All Impreza's have common ground. STi's are not that special. Nothing about them is groundbreaking comparing to a normal WRX.

If you do not know, understand or realize that, then you need to do some readings of archives here and the other site.

I went through this when the WRX came out already.

As far as democracy, yes, you are right. However, I listening to people that have been with i-Club for over 3 weeks more than those who have just got their first Subaru (STi) and want to re-invent the wheel.

The WRX to the STI is like the 4 cylinder mustang to the mustang cobra. I love both the WRX and the STI! but they are family but they do not act a like.
Your bad example was mentioning the Mustangs, not the girls.

The correct name is Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Once an Impreza, always an Impreza. Deal with it.

Blue-Adept,

Yes, I am smoking something. I am smoking my experience and knowledge from working on every Subaru there is from EVERY Impreza, Forester, Legacy, SVX. You name it.

I will repeat. There is nothing SPECIAL about the Subaru Impreza WRX STi comparing to the Subaru Impreza WRX. When I say nothing special, I am not talking about which car is "average" and which car is "hot".

I am talking mechanical differences between the two. There are not that many of them and those that are there, are not significant. If you do not know that, you are simply poorly informed on what is what and probably just saw a fancy add in the magazine and got yourself the STi.

The chassis is the same.
The basic suspension components are the same.
The brakes are the same.
The transmission is the same. Yes, it is a 6-MT, but there are probably more 6MT equipped WRX's running around than the STi's.
The engine is different, but all the basic parts are the same too. Unless you are going to go "internal" they are the same.

That is why I think there is no need for the STi specific forum since any WRX related discussion is benefitial to read and participate for both WRX and STi owners AS well as the 2.5RS owners.

Kapish?

I know you were not insulting me. Neither was I insulting you.

However, here is the tricky part I had to deal with before.

I cannot just leave a single STi for for all STi related discussions as it will clutter very fast with random stuff.

So, first off, the STi forum needs to be split into 2. Technical and nontechnical forums.

Then, if we have an STi tech forum, it needs to be split into engine, suspension, brakes, etc.

The non-tech forum will need to have a warranty forum and general discusioon.

HOWEVER!!!!

We already have all that.

Most i-Clubbers have interest in all Subaru's and want to read and participte in most discussions.

Splitting the current forums and the STi forum into 2 separate "versions" will cause chaos.

Hope this makes sense.
