First Impressions of My STI
I picked up my STI ( Silver / Silver ) at 7:00 PM tonight.
- Steering is much tighter than the the WRX.
- Ton's of low end.
- DCCD is something to get used to! It was on when I left the dealership and you could hear the drive train bind. It scared the crap out of me.
I would post pictures but I cannot shrink them down enough!,

Blue-Adept,
Hey there. I'm the guy who purchased the WRB/gold STI tonight while you were there.
I agree that the steering seems wonderful. Turn-in was very crisp and accurate. I did notice some tire noise but a decent sound system should diminish this minor grip.
The torque just seems to be getting interesting before you have to stop the fun at 4000 rpm. The car is easily capable of out pacing normal traffic loafing in 5th gear at 2500 rpm however....
This is going to be an agonizing 1000 miles...

Drove the STi 150 miles today in mixed traffic. Kept the revs below 4000 and babied the car.
- The wheels sure get dirty fast! Brake dust galore.
- The Six Speed makes the care more drivable in town, no hunting for the right gear.
- REPEAT lots of low end torque.

Be thankful you have a great dealership! I was suppose to get mine at MSRP but when I went to pick it up at West Houston Subaru they added a $6K mark up PLUS a $2250 stereo I didn't want. Grand total over $40K. Needless to say I do not own an STI and probably never will because they pissed me off so much!

I had my STi on order for a Year and a half. Some dealers are good some are rotten. You have got to find a good one. Some people say "oh it's just business" That is BS. Market pressure is one thing, breaking a promice is another. Search the web you will find one who will sell it for MSRP. Don't let one ***** rune it for every dealership or subaru.
