Door Panel Speaker Installation
Thank you to everyone who helped me with instructions on removing the front panel for the stereo installation.
I now have the problem of installing speakers. Are there any speakers besides the Subaru stock speakers that fit in exactly with no extra add-ons, cutting or drilling besides the Subaru ones?
Any detailed instructions on removing and installing speakers would be fantastic.
Also, what wiring harness do I need, the one for a regular WRX?

There are no speakers that i know of that go in without some kind of adapter. The fronts can fit most 6 1/2's with a spacer, and the rears can fit 5 1/4s with a spacer.
The reason why there are no direct replacements it that the subaru speakers use a 3 screw triangle pattern, whereas most aftermarket speakers use a 4 screw cross pattern.
The harness you're looking for, if its from metra, will be one that fits 94-96 imprezas.
To install ANY speaker, you will also need these nylon nuts:
They come in packs of 4, you'll need 3 for each door speaker, and 4 more if you go with a component system and use tweeters, total will be 16 of them, or 4 packages.
As for the spacer, i'll refer you to East Coast Scooby:
