BLITZ sus intake lean out the sti?
just got off with a guy on the phone. hes a tech at a local subaru dealership. He has a modded wrx. anyways he said hes heard of 2 cases where the blitz intake actaully leans out the motor. is this bs or has anyone heard of this. He says it also messes with the cpu. Should i just wait to do this cause after seeing the post by god im thinking it was ok?

He's telling the truth about leaning the mixture out. If you lean it out too much you're probably going to get a little detonation. It's a good idea to get the Apexi S-AFCII so you can adjust the air/fuel (but this can also be an engine killer to the inexperienced)or reflash the ECU. If you're driving the WRX then check into a new piggyback ECU like the TurboXS U-Tec, the motec, the ecutec or the Vishnu XEDE. Those are just a few that I know about. Don't be in a hurry to trow in a cold air or short ram. I'd settle for a K&N drop in filter. That's what I had in my 03 WRX and it's what I have in my STI.

Ya. you got the right idea. Getting rid of the resonator box may produce some added air flow and you can hear the turbo spool up real good. Whether or not it does any good is a good question but from what I've heard, everyone that has done it has had good results. I haven't seen any companies that have tested it. Probably because they also sell CAI's and ram air's and it would be bad for their product. The resonator box is inside the fender. You'll have to remove the airbox and stock plastic intake. Once you unbolt the resonator box, you can get it out by unpoping the wheel well and get it out that way. This way, you don't have to take the fender off.
