Any idea of SCCA Solo class?
What class do you think the STi will be in for Solo II?
I note that the SCCA has added the "Subaru WRX Sti" and "Mitsubishi Evo 8" to the list of cars excluded from the STX class (along with the BMW M3 and M5 which were already there). Since the STX rules allow up to 2.0 liter forced induction engine size it seems the US STi, with a 2.5L engine, would not be eligible anyway.
I imagine Street Prepared is possible, but this would seem to be a big disadvantage if you leave it stock. I'm guessing CSP using one of the catch-all rules, but I could be wrong. One of my thoughts on the STi vs. the standard WRX was that I'd get a bunch of performance parts while still being a "stock" car -- well, it looks like that may not work out well for SCCA. At least the insurance company will still see it that way.
Any idea on where it will fall in stock classes? I'd hope they allow it somewhere -- disallowing it for stock entirely, such as the BMW Z8, Ferrari 355/360, Viper, 911 GT2, etc. would really suck. C Stock would be nice, though the Miata's are still tough (and it also doesn't say good things about the car!). B Stock leaves me competing against Honda S2000s, and older 911s. A Stock is the new M3, Boxster S, and new 911s. Guesses?

Its either going to be AS or BS (S2000 drivers are hoping for AS
),depending on how well the specs translate into reality, as well as other unknowns like curb weight. EVO and RX-8 will most likely end up in BS.Of course there is always the slight possibility that it may not be allowed in stock because of the driver-controlled diff, but i doubt that will happen.
