Is the 22B next to the US?

If I'm not mistaken, Subaru only built 424 of the 22Bs.........
On paper, at least, the USDM STi has many of the "goodies" found on the 22B (DCCD, intercooler spray) and comparable, if not better, bhp/torque numbers. The official numbers for the 22B were 276 bhp at 6000 rpm (rumours persist that the actual number was up around 350 bhp on a good day) and 265 lb/ft torque at 3200 RPM.
The curb weight for the 22B, however, was only 1302 kg compared to 1470 kg for the USDM STi giving it a better power/torque-to-weight ratio.
In a side-by-side comparison of 22B vs Carrera4 vs Skyline GTR vs Evo V (Autocar, 9 Dec.1998), guess which car came out on top overall (???)..................the Evo V; sound vaguely familiar ??
