Brembo 4pt/2pt system vs. 22b 4pt/2pt
Hi all,
I was wondering why Subaru switched from their own Subaru 4pot/2pot system to Brembos on their new STi's. I have heard Rotor warpage when going crazy on the Brembo system. I just wonder, if that 22B system is actually still a sturdier system or if Subaru switched to Brembo for cheaper production costs...

I am believe that Subaru went the Brembo direction for performance. Although there is nothing wrong with their 4pot/2pot setup. I just think they went with brembos because of a lighter caliper setup and a larger rear disc setup. They are also competing with Mistubishi and need to have the features to match. Only reasons why I can think of.

I just got a set of the 22B 4pot/2pot brakes and am considering of getting those "BIG" rotors after I kill my OEM rotors (probably years though to do that... MRT makes a set that is 328mm/315mm called 'series 654', those should completely fill my 17" wheel, plus I get the heavier like you said 22B calipers compared to Brembos

I just bought the Brembo 4 pots for the front. It came with everything...but I want the largest rotor that will accompany the callipers...and fit inside my 17x7.5 RH-CP035s of course!
Are there oversize kits for the Brembo gold 4 pots?
Also, are the Subaru 2 pot rears a direct bolt on? What to they go for?
Thanks~
Andy

22B 4 pot is just regular Subaru 4 pot painted red.
Brembo is bigger and performs better.
EVO had Recaro/MOMO/Brembo combo for a long time
STi got MOMO in ver4 and Brembo in ver7... you can see how STi is always comaparing EVO and trying to catch up EVO
Sadly it's always behind EVO...
same goes to 17in rims. wider body.. auto center diff.. STi is always behind EVO by a year or so..
but STi finally got over 40 kg-m of torque, that's ahead of EVO and even GTR.
BTW, JDM Mitsubishi GTO (it's called 3000GT here) had optional 6pot AP caliper. That was crazy.

I swear one day us big brake guys should get together and test the difference between performance and the brand... as I always thought that 4 pots are 4 pots no matter brand, its proabably durability/workmanship thats the only difference... but we have to see from hard braking at 75mph to find this out, as I never stopped with Brembos before, only stories.
