I have heard that someone measured about 11 clean watts per channel from the head unit. I have personally found that between 25 and 30 on the dial I start getting audible noise that is definitely from the head unit.
no preouts, but a decent LOC can easily remedy that situation. If kept at a reasonable level and externally amplified, the stock head unit can be made to sound loud and pretty good.

I plan on keeping my stock head unit, BUT not using it for power, i plan on powering all the highs and mids through a 4 channel amp, its kinda like replacing the deck but with out doing it...i have always been into nice decks, but i wanted to keep the stock deck in so i don't get jacked, having a stock deck normally makes theives assume you dont have anything in the trunk...
