if you make a point to not mount anything out in the open that helps. the biggest factor i have noticed is if someone doesn't hear your stereo then they usually don't know you have one to steal unless they know you personally, and if that's the case, your right better not even bother if you got friends like that!

p.s. alarms help too, i have installed many systems into cars that have been recently broken in to and i'm pretty sure none of them had an alarm until AFTER their stuff got stolen.

Wouldn't a fancy-schmancy face deck with lights n bells n whistles attract unwanted attention tho Dick?

actually Choku, any fancy-schmancy face deck with lights n bells n whistles should be a detach head unit. besides you don't have to have an aftermarket radio to have a system in your vehicle

this is true, but i have yet to see anyone replace their factory radio with a double din as there are not too many companies that make a quality double-din radio. the ones that are made usually are pretty pricey! that said if i dropped more than say $400 on a head unit i would have an alarm..
