only the baffle is made from 3/4" mdf??? Jon, I think you should check on how much is made from 3/4 mdf.......most of the time 1/2 mdf will not provide deep, solid bass.....
I think it says wrx/sti because they moved the enclosure from the passenger to driver side, allowing sti owners to install it (due to the water tank on the passenger side)

the box looks pretty good. i prefer using 3/4 for the whole box, but 1/2 isn't bad, unless you're gonna use a JL w7 or Earthquake subzero. if you're gonna use a high output sub, the box should be 3/4 and the baffle should be an inch. the only problem that I see is that the cubic feet is only .9. that doesn't really allow a subwoofer to be used at it's full potential. most subs work best in a 1.5 to 1.9 box. but, if space is an issue, go for this box.

actually i am the one who makes the enclosures you are looking for. need4speed just distributes them for me.
the enclosure is made for a 10" woofer with less than 7" of mounting depth. the enclosure is made up of 1/2" MDF with the baffle being the thicker 3/4" MDF. its is also internally braced and very solid. the woofer is also recessed 1/4" to help flush the woofer in a bit. i have made hundreds of these enclosures that were shipped to customers running anything from entry level 10" woofers with 100watts, to need4speed running a rockford power 10" and 1000watts. i personally ran one a 10" woofer and 1000watts and never had a single problem. the bass is very clear and tight sounding. the 20lbs weight is the shipping weight, so the actual enclosure does weigh a little less, probably around 16-17lbs.
just a little info about myself. i have been doing custom car audio for 10years now, with my specialty being sub enclosures. i designed this box to work well with almost any 10" woofer. during the testing, the side mounted .9 cu ft box had similar in car response to an enclosure 50% bigger. .9 cu ft is a pretty standard 10" sealed enclosure, and the only reason you would want to go bigger is to run a ported enclosure.
if anyone is interested, the enclosures are ready to ship at anytime. please contact myself at supersubee@***.net or brett with www.need4speedpower.com

This box is great I bought one to replace my 12 with something that took up less space. It sound great and fits very well. Oh, if your wondering I went from a 12" RF hx2 power, to a 10" kicker comp vr.
