Well my installer couldnt get 6.5" Diamond Audio Hex components (s600s) to fit no matter what size spacer he made. If he spaced it enough so it wouldnt hit the window, it would hit the panel. Oh well, the 5.25" Hex's (s500s) I have in there sound great either way

He can't install the s600 hex? hmmm....the speaker is only
2.53 inches in depth why can't he do it. I have read on a
post on the other suby site that he had the 6 1/2" hex with a
spacer, not sure how big are the spacer though.

Kappas sucks b*lls for the price that u pay for them .If u want damn good speakers, you want ADS, Bostons, or Focals. I think right now these are some of the best brands you can buy. I have the top of the line ADS's in my car and they fit just fine. Yes, they r 6.5' and are components.

all you have to do is cut the ribbing off the back othe door molding, it is there juswt to give the door some extra support.

I have 5 1//4 all around in my 02 RS. I also wanted to get the rockford components in the front but i couldn't get the 5 1/4 to fit let alone a 6 1/2. The magnet was just too big to fit without shaving glass or some kind of mounting bracket. If your lookin to get something to fit with no extras needed look at the kenwood KFC series. They have really small magnets and fit fairly easily. Sound decent too. Depending on what your lookin for.

How about know successful installs

This thread comes up all the time. How about we make it the "What speakers do fit without hacking the door up" thread.

PS I heard the diamond hex were one of the sure things in terms of fit. Lots of folks run em on the board.

Cruthfield has like 2 pairs that fit and 1 of those is like 4 inch coax.

What else works easy but sounds good ?

Thanks
Rich

To end this discussion, pick up some WRX-02-03 Spacer Brackets here:
http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showth...threadid=26006

These WILL fit your wagon OR sedan, and he sells front and rear brackets.

Fronts: Will allow you to install ANY 6.5" round speaker with mounting depth of 2 1/4" or less

Rears: Will allow you to install ANY 5.25" round speaker with mounting depth of 2 1/4" or less

Enjoy. I bought them myself and installation worked quite well.
