Apologies if this has been posted already. Did a quick search and couldn't find anything. I had the post from the "former" i-club page, but it doesn't work now.

In any case, any help on how to install the WRX 6 CD changer into my Outback Sport would be appreciated. Currently, there's a single din cd player.

 

Actually, I need a little bit more direction than that. I need to know how to take apart whatever I need to take apart to install the head unit. Right now, I got the stock single din plus plastic tray on top. Do these things simply pull out?

yep, the bracket holds your current hu and cup. you will then reuse the braket onto the new wrx hu and mount it back onto the
car. you can probably sell your cup (CD holder) to a wrx owner
who got a single din aftermarket stereo.

 

I tried pulling out the single din and tray. Seems to me that there are a couple of things I need to take apart before they "slide" out more easily.

Also by looking at the 6 disc HU and the brackets, doesn't seem like it'll just go in without taking apart something else...

 

I haven't done this, but previous posters have written that step one is to pop open your cup holder, which will reveal 2 phillips head screws. Remove those, and you're on your way.
