Solenoid Cover Fastener??

Perhaps this isn't the right place to ask, but this doesn't seem applicable to the engine forums...

Long story short, the moron who last worked on my engine bay lost one of the fasteners that hold down that cruddy plastic solenoid cover (top left side of the engine bay, looks like a flat plastic piece with two twist-lock fasteners). Where can I find another one? Why are they such cheap crap that falls off? Is there an alternative fastener I can use to replace both of them?

They're not crap, they just aren't "captive" type fasteners so you have to be careful not to lost them. Your dealer should have replacements.

No, that was my first phone call -- dealer said they don't have them in stock and I'd have to order a replacement for the entire cover.

I can't figure out why they are simple turn-lock fasteners in the first place -- how often would I need to access the solenoid? Two bolts would have worked just fine, they have these crazy things called "socket wrenches" now...

I'd make certain that the cover you want to buy DOES come with fasteners... I went looking for other covers myself, and all three that I found (one carbon, two aluminum) did NOT come with fasteners... Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it if you do end up with extras.
