Remote Start/Security System

I got a Viper remote start system for Christmas, but my car is a manual transmission. The guys at Best Buy won't install it, but understandably so. I have a friend who will do it, but hasn't done it on a manual transmission before.

I used to drive a Jeep and installing a remote start in that car was as easy as disengaging a spring on the clutch.

Does anyone know what is involved with bypassing the clutch on a remote car install for a 2005 Impreza?

Where I live in Canada, I had to buy a compustar starter because the store I bought it from (Advanced electronics) said that it was the only model they could install on manual transmission, the other brand they had was Viper.
So I'm not so sure what your options are, try a few places either then bestbuy I guess, but I wouldn't just go ahead and let your buddy who's never done it before on a manual do it.

Use a ground test light on the clutch pedal. I forgot the wire color. But if you have the wire grounded the car will be able to start w/o the clutch engage. There is a wire from the viper autostart that gives a negative trigger when remote start.
