recommend me an alarm plz!

ok since most places don't do remote starts on 5-spd cars, i guess i'm not going to get the clifford matrix rsx 3.5. any other good alarm out there that is not remote start? i also want one with a trunk pop feature for my wrx (but i think i have to get the trunk pop solenoid with that). which clifford line is good? i'm looking to spend around $350-450 for an alarm w/ the trunk pop feature. turbo timer is also a plus. thanks!

Anything by directed electronics is great, viper, python, especially clifford. I would recommend getting the 2 way pager also, so you know when your alarm is going off and which sensor it triggered.

Thumbs up

I've got a Viper and love it. I forget the model number, 750 I think. Anyway, all the wiring is black, and the control box is hidden. It has the motion, impact, and incline sensors. It's a very solid system, and I have had no problems with mine. I don't have the remote start, trunk opener, or a turbo timer. Good luck.

i had the viper 791xv installed on my sti. works great. my alarm is the envy of my other sti/subbie owners i kno. =) i had my alarm installed by my friend (who has lots of experience installing alarms/audio). i did a lot of research on the forums and got all the wiring schematics/info so he could wire it correctly (meaning that it was wired so it would only remote start if the car is parked in neutral. if it is parked in gear, nothing would happen). the built in turbo timer is also a great feature. if i remember correctly, i got mine done for about $500-600.

i went for the compustar from a recommended dealer from compustar themselves. i was first gonna get an alarm from greg manino but he flaked saying the price he quoted me was too cheap three weeks later. he didn't answer my phone calls or reply to my email telling me that so i waited. so i was like ok... fine. glad i didn't get it from him cuz if it was so hard trying to get him to reply, that if i had problems later on he probably wouldn't give support, etc.

anyways the compustar 2wSS is great. i got the top of the line one w/ also a trunk pop. the distance is amazing. you can remote start your car from a mile away!
