Car Info: 2005 WRX Sti - Cobb Stage 2
Hiya everyone - I just bought a 2005 WRX Sti and I am very excited but concerned the stock Alpine alarm ain't gonna ease my mind.
I just bought a Compustar 2wss-as alarm off of ebay and I am looking to get it installed professionally in San Diego/SoCal. I do not think I am brave enough or electronic install savvy enuf to do it myself. So I am looking for input from people that have had a Compustar alarm installed on a recent Sti. I mainly want to know how much you paid, the name of installer, and what went right/wrong, and would you recommend them.
Planned install: disable factory Alpine system (but leave it stock on the car), backup battery (any suggestions on type/brand and location), 2-way paging system fuel-cut off switch, hood switch (do I need this?), turbo-timer & auto window roll-up & door lock & arm alarm with single button press, trunk-lid pop (need actuator?), siren & lights flash when alarm goes off (are lights standard?), 2 shock sensors, not planning on remote start (no autostart - more secure?).
Any other suggestions or stuff I missed? I am trying to make the car as secure as possible, and I might add GPS security system. I live in SoCal, don't see need for remote starter. Will also definitely use club on steering wheel.
Thanks in advance.
