A quick install and some pic's
I had an opportunity to go to Vegas and compete in a stereo contest sponsered by Sony. I decided to build the WRX and take it. The only issue was that I found out I was going about a week before the show so I had about 4 nights after work throwing this thing together. Let me know what you think? It's a simple install because of time. It's also for sale if somebody wants a nice system for there Impreza.

Nice. I like the Sony deck, that is the same deck that I am getting. I chose it based on features and intuitive use but I never paid much attention to mounting depth, I am glad to see that it fits cleanly in the dash without modification. I am also awaiting delivery of my covered DIN pocket, so now I can see what it will look like installed!
dear sony,
bring back the MOBILE ES line, and get rid of the piece of S**T line that you call XPLOD.
make a non powered head unit. you're "52x4 watts spec" is bulls**t. plus in 20+ years i had you're head units, i never bought one with power.
i hate having to scour ebay to keep buying replacements for my current XR-C900 head unit...
also bring back back the XDP line of processors too.
is that too much to ask?

Thanks for all the positive comments...The amps are actually completely open on the top. There is about 4 inches from the amps to the rear deck. I built this car to enter into a stereo contest in Vegas sponsered by Sony and rocked it all 9 hours down there and had no issues at all. I have decided to sell the car and if there is little interest in the sound system then I will be selling at least the enclosure and trunk panel if anyone is interested.

I think I placed 6th out of 18 or so cars......Winng would have been great but the cars that did win had many hours of work in them and lot's of money and time.......I only spent about 3 days on the install and tune of the system. Had a blast though, after all it was a free weakend at green valley ranch....
