what does everyone think of these subs?

 

Optimized for small (.88 cu ft) sealed enclosures.

Heavy gauge (.45mm), 4-layer Voice Coil on a Kapton former (1) is lightweight, fast and reliable.

Kapton voice coil former (5) is high temperature-rated and retains it shape even if the driver ever "bottoms out"

Huge Hi-roll Butyl Rubber surround (7) allows longer cone excursion for high-impact bass and lower distortion.

Airtight gaskets on the front and the back of the basket insure an airtight installation. The rear gasket is removable for "show off" installations.

Triple vented for maximum airflow, heat dissipation and high power handling: Vented Coil/Cone Coupler, Vented Spider Platform and Vented Pole Piece all allow cooling air to freely flow over heat-generating parts to better harness all the watts your amp can dish out.

 

They are pretty subs but for the price $380, you can get
a better subwoofer like the ED A12 for $275, 1000/1500 peak w,
very good sq and spl or the jl audio 12W6v2 for $339. These are
just some of the audiophile sub-bass quality out there.

 

i believe that price includes an enclosure made specifically for it.

i was eyeing the 10 and 12" at 2 diff stores.

 

I have never heard them but Polk is a very reputable company. Also they have a huge advantage over other subs in their price category, they hit as low as 20 Hz so they would be great to fill in the lower end for your system and they go for 200 on ebay.

I have one 10" polk/momo sub which I just recently installed. Although I didn't buy it in the box. Didn't want it to slide around and didn't know how I was going to mount something like that.
I picked up one of subee sounds trunk box and it sounds great!
The box is just a tad too big for the recommended .88 cu ft. The box is somewhere around .90 cu ft something. Not a big deal in my book.
I'm not taking it to any sound competitions.

actually, i just installed 2 12"s in my car. like you i didnt get the boxes though. my box is about 1cu.ft., little big, but it is just a temp. box until i get around to making a real fiberglass one. thanks for all the input.
