!!!! WHEN YOU PLUG IN THE AFTERMARKET HARNESS DO YOU HAVE TO SPLICE EACH INDIVIDUAL SPEAKER WIRE? OR IS IT JUST A DEAD UNIT!!!!



I bought this used head unit and have the top mount install where the oem gauges would be.

the unit came with a harness that plugs directly into the factory unit plugs (WHITE PLUG GOES TO FACTORY WHITE PLUG/ HARNESS) . but no sound.

did i get a bum unit or do i have to hook up separate wires to each individual speaker?

i don't want to pay an install and it just end up that the unit is dead as far as sound.

the unit works and lights go up, cd plays and all bells and whistles are moving. just no sound. going to try to the video connection and see if that comes out with something.

any ideas?

 

I'm a complete nooby so any help would be great. i apologize if i sound ignorant in this aspect of the install.
