soggynuts, i love the name!!! Made me laugh. I got the material at my local Home Depot. Bondo makes the fiberglass resin $23.00/gal (make sure you wear a VERY GOOD respirator), and they also make the glass itself. You go can either fiberglass mat or cloth $5.00 . Not sure what the real diff. is if one is stronger or not, I don't know. I used two of the mats and get the big 1 gallon of resin cause you use alot of it. Hope this helps.

I thought I took that picture but it looks like I didn't cause I ran out of room. I'll take on and throw it up here.

There are two main types of resin, polyester and epoxy. Polyester is noxious and is what I've seen being sold at the Home Depot, the epoxy I used (System 3) is not. The MSDS for System 3 says it is safe to breathe, hopefully they're right as I did it in my house. My fiberglass box sounds good but it's a minimum of 1/4" thick, most parts are significantly thicker. It probably weighs a good 20 to 25 lbs. Didn't put anything on the inside yet, may spray some sound deadening on it but I don't want to remove the sub to do it. System 3 is expensive though (but extremely easy to use for glassin' newbies like me), so if you have a well ventilated area, use the cheaper polyester.

Yeah......fiberglass enclosures are usually a gamble....they're either great, or sound like crap

I'd like to see the new enclosure if you're able to fit it there. What size sub and airspace are you looking at?

Herger, that setup looks sweet. Wish mine turned out that good. It fit perfectly until i glassed the top and tried to wrap the top around the sides and skrewd it up a little. Now it fits, but it's not flush with the rest of the trunk like I wanted it to be.

Thanks, it took me forever to sand/fill/sand/fill/sand/fill etc to get the surface smooth. Getting it to wrap around corners is tough. The backside of my box looks like crap but no one sees that, right?

ha ha. Yep that is true. I didn't want to waste anymore time on my box. I just sanded the big stuff and put some carpet on it.

more pics of the box INSIDE the trunk (it's not very flush ) and a picture of my trunk lid with the dyno Mat on it.

By the way, I love the way the new I-Club looks and feels, user friendliness that is. GREAT JOB--not sure who that credit goes to but there ya go!

Also, can anyone tell me what's up with these scuby snacks I keep hearing about?

Thanks,
Cody
