My Fiberglass Box (w/ PICS!)

Ok guys, I have debated and decided to go with a custom fiberglass box and this is what I have done so far to my 96 Impreza L sedan:
I covered the spare tire compartment with Dymo Mat and layed the glass to form my mold. Now I understand why shops get so much $$$ for these things cause they are very time consuming!

It's time consuming, but worth it to do it yourself. Not only do you get some experience making it, you also save money. From what I hear it's not too hard to make a basic fiberglass enclosure. Post pix of the finished product. Good luck.

I have heard anywhere from $500-$1200 for something like this because it's not a rectangle or some crap like that. Anyone ever work with fiberglass, cause I think that i am still sick from it!

Yeah, I heard it can get expensive depending on what you want. DIY is the cheapest way to go. Plus, the satisfaction of knowing you did it on your own is worth it too.

Actually the fiberglass can be pricey I attempted to make a box out of fiberglass got it almost complete hooked it up and it sounds like crap so I'm going with MDF plus changed plans I'm gonna make one that will go between the rear seat and a Cusco V-brace...

Silver satin,

The fiberglass materials aren't that expensive, only like $50 max for everything. But you are starting to scare me w/ you saying that is sounded like crap, why do you think it did, also where did you put your box?

Well it is expensive compared to the price to make a box out of wood. I realy think mine didn't sound right due to incorrect airspace I made it to fit in the left rear corner of the trunk and it was hard trying to figure out how big to make it to get as close as I could to correct size thats why I think it sounds like crap but other have made them with good results..
