malfunctioning oem sub
malfunctioning oem sub
just wondering if anyone's oem sub went crazy on them. mines goes on and off, and recently its just been off. i had to slam it a couple times, and itll come back on, but a few mins or secs later it goes off again. ive checked the wires and everything, they still properly attatched.
anyone know whether or not i can bring it back to the dealer to see if they can fix it?
thanks

Agreed, take it to the dealer, no sense in busting your butt trying to fix it. I'd like to see Subaru try to deny a claim on the subwoofer, unless you rewired your stereo.
"Well, you see, the timing adjustments that the engine had to make because of the cold air intake, cause a different RF signal from the ECU, frying the sub"
Also, how are you telling that it goes on and off? Just by listening and feeling the sub? I've noticed that playing burned MP3 disks (converted to audio) sometimes have strange bass levels depending how it was recorded and burned. I'd check it with a true cd first.

Hey ya Vic. My subwoofer crapped out on me too recently. Just bring it back to your dealer and get it fixed under warranty.
My prob was that the subwoofer would kinda flicker on and off a bit, then it just died after a few weeks. Turns out that I wasn't supposed to set the Bass EQ to 5 out of 5
The guy at the dealership said to keep the Bass EQ at 1, maybe 2 max and to turn the volume up if I wanted more bass. My E40 just doesn't sound the same anymore

I don't think warranty works for 2nd hand subwoofers Vic. So I guess Ed's gotta get back to you. And I miss "Rep Yo' City" at Bass +5 and volume at 12
Come to think of it, I'm not too surprised that mine broke now
