well you should have posted in the interior section but oh well. you are going to need a wiring harness to hook up to the stock wiring. get that at a local car audio place. then you need to take off your dash. on mine there are 2 screws in the cupholder/armrest. take them out. pull off the a/c ***** and stuff. they just pull right off. then pull out the center plastic part by the shifter and stuff. then pull off the dash where the head unit is. it should have some clips and you can just pull it off. plug in your wiring harness to the stock wiring. slide the HU into place. re-assemble your dash. should be about it.

for a very detailed instruction thingy WITH PICTURES, http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159

babydeal, there are several different ways to reply to someone's post - just above the top post at the left-hand corner is a 'post reply' button. Below the last post on the page is a quick reply box into which you may type your reply. When you have finished typing your reply into that text box, you may click on the button below the box to send the reply. These are just two of the ways to reply.

Please do not click on the button to 'report bad post' as a means to reply (which is what you did), thanks.

what year is your 2.5TS

If it is a 2004, you don't even have to take apart the shifter stuff. All you have to do is remove the cup holder (two screws) as mentioned before, and then the "bezel" surrounding the stock cd player and a/c *****. On the 2004 RS/TS (I'm sure they're the same) there is no need to deal with the a/c *****. The bezel on my '04 2.5RS had four connections that put it into place, instead of the six that are mentioned in many instruction guides.

If your car is a 2004, this is a very easy task. One thing that will help you is finding the instructions for the under the seat subwoofer install (it is somewhere on this forum), which will steer you in the right direction.

Just yesterday I took mine apart and it must have took me literally a half hour. One thing that is very important: your stock CD player is screwed into a harness that holds it into place. The screws that attach your stock CD player to your harness (not your harness to your car, these srews are easy to take off) are very, very, very, very tight. If you are not expecting this, you will strip the screw. Once the screw has been stripped even the slightest bit, you won't be able to unscrew the CD player from the harness unless you get a "bolt off" tool, which I unfortunately had to do for the first screw I tried, turning my expected two hour project into a day of trying to find the correct tool to get the darn stripped screw out (if this happens, I would recommend a "bolt off" drill bit from Sears). If you are expecting these screws to be very, very, very, very tight you will be fine. Everything from this point on is child's play.

One thing about Subarus (at least from my small amount of experience with mine) is that they are very aftermarket friendly when it comes to changing out the stock CD player.
