How to keep subwoofer from moving?

I have a 12 inch Alpine subwoofer in the trunk. I didn't secure the box because (1) I want to have the option to take it out when I need to (2) the box is quite heavy so I thought it would not move too much at all.
The problem is that the even the small movement of the box has caused the thin carpet type of sheet in the trunk to move and twist quite severely. I guess I have two options: (1) prevent the subwoofer box from moving too much, or (2) totally secure the carpet type of sheet in the trunk so the sheet won't move or twist.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

i hade the same problem with the carpet getting all mangled from the box moving so much. what i did was secure the underside of the carpet to the board with industrial strength velcro. Make sure you get the backing with industrial strenght tape though. i put the velcro on the four corners and the center of the carpet. another option is using the steel wire used to hang picture frames and secure it the box and tie it around the upper area of the trunk where the 3rd brake light is.

hey Zoeb, with the L brackets, how hard is it to get to your spare tire? is it hard to lift the board?

I actually took the board out though since my trunk is pretty much useless with that box in it.
I will have to reconsider once I get a smaller setup

I put in some industrial strength velco to secure the carpet and it's working well. Now I just need to minimize the woofer movement. Thanks for all the replies.
