HELP! Interior flashing "SECURITY" in cluster...

here's my problem...

I have a 2003 WRX wagon w/ the stock factory alarm... I just got it back from the shop (it had been keyed at school and I had both sides repainted) and now the "SECURITY" light inside is always flashing! Whether the alarm is armed or disarmed, it still flashes! Other than that everything else works fine.

I do have a turbo timer that i installed my self, but i followed the apexi turbo timer install thread (which i have) here on i-club and Scooby mods.

Any help would be appreciated! thanx in advance!

It's in valet mode. This happens often because it's easy to accidentally put it into this mode. IIRC, to fix it all you have to do is press the unlock/disarm button on the remote while the drivers door is open.

Hold the button until you get a beep confirmation

you can lock and unlock the car with the key or use the fob when in valet mode and the alarm will never arm itself. It's mostly for cars that are set to arm automatically I think.

Im having the "valet mode" problem also, but I cant get it out of valet mode. Ive tried opening the driver door and hitting the arm button and also holding it down until I got a 3 chirp confirmation, but still in "valet mode" (no alarm and security light flashing twice). Any other thoughts?

Thanks guys,
_justin

With your driver door open, hold down the DISARM button on your remote until the flashing
security light goes away.
