fosgate amp + stock head unit

hi guys, i'm trying to put in my fosgate amp this weekend, and i know already that the stock unit doesn't have preouts, so i was just wondering, how have people been doing this? to connect the head unit to the amp? i know the best way is just to just buy a head unit at a local audio shop or something, but i like the in dash 6 cd changer. In the near future i will be changing the head unit to a mp3 player, so 1 cd can handle the songs, but for right now, i dont have enough money for it. Another thing is, has anyone mounted their amps underneath the passenger seat? my fosgate 451 power amp can fit in there nicely, so i had that in mind for the setup. Thanks a lot guys

Check with a local Car stereo shop (or on the internet)...there are gizmo's out there that you can connect right to the speaker outputs on the stock head unit which then converts to RCA's to go to the amp...some use a separate volume control than on the head unit however....they had these back in my car stereo competition days in the early 90's so suspect something similar (or better) is out there somewhere...

The stock head unit is quite sweet, I don't know why there aren't pre-outs on it!!!
