ESCORT PASSPORT 8500 symbol?
Hey guy, I got one of them Escort Passport 8500 X50 red. I used it for a while and still cant determine which symbol stands for which kinda vehicle. In particular I want to know what mode and symbol stands for city cops (pigs) and Highway Patrol. I got one to aviod getting speeding tickets on freeway, but it wont help me till I realize which symbol/icon will alert me of what stands for what . Help!! TIA ... THANKS

The Escort 8500 has four Bands. They are X, K, Ka and Laser Band. You won't be able to tell if it is a city or state trooper based on the Band (Symbol) because both can use either one of the Bands. You basically won't be able to tell until you see the vehicle. K Band is used mostly so caution should be taken. If Ka goes off, be ready to slow down and if Laser goes off, slow down NOW. If X Band goes off, it is most likely motion detectors from security systems, but every once in awhile there may be radar in the area. Just take notes as to when the detector goes off and if something seems different, radar may be near by. Hope that helps.

yeah, but it doesnt say which would stand for which. I notice to see KA when I spot a highway patrol, but sometimes I see them and nothing goes off =O Just seeking some help.
