I've been noticing that my range isn't as good as i want it to be in urban enviroments, and was wondering if the range extender antenna that dei sells work well with the 790xv. I don't think that i'll be able to transmit from the remote beyond the remote's range, but i would at least like to be able to recieve from further away.

 

I have friend with that and I believe it helped a little...but sorry to say, DEI has had a reputation of poor remote range. Every single person I've known has complained about their remotes and range even with the HF models and stuff. I'd say since you already have the 790 you should probably give it a try....but you could always consider a Clifford (but not a Matrix, which is really a viper).....I swear by them.....and know a ton of people that have switched.....

But hey....if you give the range extender a try let me know how it goes....always looking for more info
