cd player question

Hi All,
I'm the new proud owner of 2002 outback and I am really excited! The only problem is that my car came with just a tape deck. It has two bays underneath the stereo. I'd like to put a factory cd player or 6 disk cd changer in.
I'm a total newbee... Is this an easy task where I could just install the changer or player into the extra bay and plug into the back of the existing stereo? The stereo has a button that says cd.
Will either the single disk or the changer work? If so any ideas of how much either option might cost? The dealer seems REALLY expensive.
Thanks!

this may seem like a very general and vague form of advice.... but drop the stock deck- see if your local car stereo shops have something inexpensive to offer. if you have a circuit city in your area sometimes they run a free install special on some of their decks..... i believe a mdeium price i've seen is around 150-200 dollars.
