Right now my favorite driving music is the entire album "St. Anger" by Metallica. Songs like "Frantic", "Some Kinda Monster", and "Dirty Window" make me want to tear up the road.
Other albums that I love driving to include:
Every Zepplin Album
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Any Ozzy album
Any Sabbath album with Ozzy or Dio
Pantera - Cowboys from hell
White Zombie - La Sexorcito/Devils Music
Any Metallica album especially Master of Puppets
AC/DC - Highway to hell, Back in Black, or Razors Edge
Any CD from my Misfits coffin box set
Kiss - Destroyer or any greatest hit CD.
Any GnR CD

Good call on Magic Carpet Ride. The scene in "Go" with that song playing is awesome.
One I just recently heard for the first time (and have subsequently had stuck in my head) is "Steve McQueen" by Sheryl Crow. Just a great summer/driving song.

Ha I'm gonna sound like a REALLY OLD FOGEY (even though I'm really not... still in the under 21 crowd
) I belive the best stuff is:
Incubus - pretty much anything
Bhetoven - (sp?) yeah its old, but it is the BEST as far as driving. Especally the more dramatic pieces, they let you kinda get more into the drive, and still stay focused on what you are doing
Lol - The newer elvis remixes - I dont know why, but they are great to listen to
Cheers

For good hip hop I would have to say:
Hieroglyphics: Full Circle
Deltron 3030
Del: Future Delvelopment
PeanutButter Wolf: My Vinyl Weighs a Ton
Connect the Dots: Music For All Cities (Kombo: "God bound being my fav track on that CD
Z-trip and Dj P: Uneasy listening vol I (easily one of the best mix cds I have wever heard, nothing like rock and hip-hop being mixed together)
DJ Shadow: Any of his Cd's but I'm currently rockin 'Private Press'
For bad hip hop or as it should be called, hip-pop, just listen to the radio
For late nite drving I listen to slow-jams: whatever I have burned such as Air supply, KC and JoJo, One Voice, Jay Cho, anything soft
