audio advice
wanted to ask anyone who has already done this the best way to go about it...
i'm wanting to tap a line level adaptor off my rear speakers so I can run RCA's line level to a single sub. The stock system sounds great to me, so I'm not wanting to tear into the dash. where is the best place to tap into and route an adaptor to the trunk? I'm kinda guessing inside the rear left and right door jam, look for the color codes.

if u put it behind the deck its better b/c if u ever decide to upgrade ur head unit to one that has preouts u will be able to jus connect the RCA's to teh deck without having to move them

how about this though....
how do they get a line level signal to the upgraded subwoofer and amp package for the WRX? Are there two different factory head units? I'm just thinking there must be somewhere on that head unit, or a plug already factory routed, that's is supplying a preamp signal. has anyone thought of this and checked under their passenger seat? I'd check mine ... but i kinda totalled it last week and i'm replacing it with a 2004.

i installed the factory sub in mine by myself. it's actually a harness that goes inline with the factory harness. you plug the harness for the sub into the factory connection, and that plug then goes to the back of the factory head unit. it pretty much acts as an interrupt and splits off to the sub.
