Ashtray/Lighter?

Ashtray/Lighter?
I was just looking at my ashtray/lighter area in the dash of my WRX. Looks about the exact same size of a 1 din slot. Anyone know if I could mount a stereo in there?

ive seen some pics of this set up, but i dont have any saved and i forgot where to get them.
the person took the ash tray out and the cig lighter out and had to cut a little bit into the sides of the center console to make it work . it looked really clean because they had a 7" monitor in the double DIN opening of the head unit. IMO, this looks alot cleaner than the head units mounted in the stock guage housing on top of the dash.
i think there were some pics on clubwrx.com
might be work checking out for that .
