so, the 02's, mine, has a stoopid antenna. i was looking into maybe getting one like the 05's, where is it located? is it the little back square on top in the very front center of the dash? thats pretty cool if it is.

If it means anything, I'm pretty sure in 06 they;re using a roof mounted antenna instead of the in-glass I have on my 05...I'd bet those work better and in a few months they may be available from the dealers

Yeah, the 04/05 don't really have the antenna that you can buy and put onto your 02.
It's the orange looking paint lines on the rear window.

Antenna info aside, the 'windshield' can only be the front-facing window glass - that's why it's a wind shield.

Unhappy Really bad radio reception

Just bought a 05 STi with the antenna built in to the rear window and the radio reception is totally unacceptable. Have any of you been successful in getting Subaru to install a normal antenna to take care of this problem?

The in-glass antenna on the '04+ does already have an amplifier. One common mistake that is made when installing an aftermarket HU is failure to connect the power for the antenna amp, so the result is very poor reception even though the antenna wire itself is plugged in.
