Aftermarket speakers for facory Front end

I tore the cone on one of the factory speakers. Too much base from Dean Martin, Live at the Sands," I guess. Any way, I am happy enough with the stock front end and the premium sound system. Just want new speakers. So any suggestions?

Also it sounds like the balance is biased to the right when the display says 0, thoughts?

I know I am gonna hear stuff about the head unit, I don't want to spend the time and effort on sound insulation so I am just gonna stay with the factory head. I am 40 and not into loud as much as driving.

Thanks for all your advice in advance.

i suggest replacement speakers under $100 then.

find a local shop or even ebay.

now the problem is that oem speakers have a 3 hole (triangular) mounting system where as aftermarket has a round hole with 4-5 holes so you have to make an adapter plate or buy them.

or just ask local suby owners who had upgraded their speakers already and see if you can have them... cant hurt to ask

odd that your balance is to the right when at 0.

hows your left ear? because the left speaker is closer to your head, the sound reaches faster than the right side. by using the BAL control you just lower the volume.

best fix for that is to time delay the one channel, in this case the left side by like a 20-30 milliseconds to accomodate the diff.

ACK!!! sound travels a foot in a MS rougly.(Technically it's .89 milliseconds per foot). If the driver is 30 feet away then 30ms would work great
