04 STi Sound System Q's
I searched and didnt find anything...i know that the 04 STi's have the headunit pre-wired and ready to go...but are the speakers pre-wired?? And what sizes do they take?? I am assuming they are the same as the wrx's and are 6.5 all around?? TIA
^^Thanks...i should be getting an 04 soon and wanted to get my system lined up so that i was ready to install when i get a chance...so not including tweeters, there are 6 speakers total (2 front drs, 2 rear drs, 2 rear trunk panel)?? What about the depth issue?? I have run into that problem before in other cars too...

On the STI the front size is 5 1/4 if you want to put 6.5 you will need to buy a spacer for the speakers. but if you buy 5 1/4 you dont need the spacer. I put 6in speaker in the front for now. and I had to drill holes to screw it on. but for the rear door I havent done it yet. But I know for sure the trunk you can fit 6.5. Just remember to connect positive with positive and neg with neg. or you will blow out your speaker.

. The wiring is the same and in the same locations. All of the door panel cutouts and grills are in the same place. http://www.iaperformance.com sells adapters for 6.5" up front. He can tell you what depths will work.
Ok, so all 4 doors take 5 1/4 and if i wanna go with some 6 1/2, i will have to get an adapter...thanks guys
