ok here:
this is a picture of macau
famous gambling island about 1 hour from hk
most recent addition is the sands hotel, owned and operated by a group from vegas
wynn is also building a resort there as well
what's interesting about macau aside from the gambling, is that it was previously occupied by the portuguese, so the architecture seems very european, despite that it's part of china.

Ooh, Macau. If all the plans follow through, that place should be bigger then Vegas in 2010.

i think it all depends. right now macau is focused on gambling only, whereas vegas is fun for the whole family. they've got shows, shopping, stuph for little kids (i think)..... plus macau is only focused mainly on tables. not a lot of slot machines which is what gives casinos in vegas the edge.... you walk buy, drop a few bucks on the slots, but never win. that's all odds on the house.
but at any rate. we'll see....

We'll see. I work for one of the biggest slot manufacturers in the world, and they are fairly interested in Macau. Esp. with Sands and Steve Wynn coming in. It all depends on how the market responds to slots versus table games. I'm certainly interested to see what happens in Macau.
