Anyone interested in tuning in South Florida with AZScoobie
Hey guys, I'm cross-posting this from NA$IOC...
If you want in, PM me there or here and I'll sign you up. The cost will go down somewhat with more takers.
Everyone in or maybe, please PM me your telephone number, e-mail and name. Thanks!
Hi guys,
I'm thinking about setting up a dyno day with Clark (AZScoobie) for those down here who want a great tune.
Clark is a master at the UTEC (hundreds tuned), has tuned 40 or so Links and ran one himself for a year, and tunes ECUTek as well.
Basically, we can set up about 8 cars in a day. We rent the dyno, pay expenses and tuning costs, and he does the deed. I'm thinking about the 3rd weekend in May, just due to my schedule. I'm looking at Friday/Saturday, May 14-15th.
I know that there are a bunch of folks with Links, UTECS, etc. down here who would like a good tune. This will do it. the man can tune, I know from experience.
PM me or post with your interest, and I'll let you know what it will involve. I'm really just trying to engage interest here.
Updating price information below:
Dyno+incidentals for 8 people in one day = $130-$140, perhaps, I'll really dig these numbers and give the real deal soon... This number is an estimate, I'm not going to make any money on this, so I'll just divide the costs (and post everything) at the dyno day. Once I have a solid, full list and book the dyno and Clark's transpo and hotel, I'll schedule a meet or something to collect a deposit (I'll be in for the full amount, after all...)
Tuning = $100/hour, includes UTEC, Link, TEC, etc.
A good, single-fuel tune will take one hour. If the tune is quick, you might be able to get some other tuning in that hour block, perhaps a light race-gas tune, etc. If you want race-gas, or nitrous, or whatever, you'll need more time, and will have to take up more slots in the day, and thus will probably have to pay a larger percentage of the "dyno+incidentals" cost. I'm going to have to get at least a portion (I haven't decided how much just yet) of the dyno+incidentals cost up front, since I'm going to wind up paying for all of those charges in advance.
There is a surcharge for ECUTek, so a count for that would be nice. There are discounts if more than a certain number of people want ECUTek, as long as we know in advance.
UPDATED MONEY: Everyone - I have the dyno pricing, hotel pricing and flight pricing, it looks like it's going to be $131/person based on 10 people, plus $100/hour for Clark for tuning. As it is, and I need to confirm with Clark, I'd have him fly in Friday, May 14th and tune two cars on Friday evening and then tune the other 8 on Saturday, May 15th.
That includes dyno time at $850 for 10 cars, including a full hour tuning on the dyno, and all strap on/off, $200 for hotel for Clark ($79/night + taxes, etc.), and $258 for his round-trip airfare from Phoenix. $1308 = $131/person + Clark's fees... + ECUTek fees if you want that.
