Ppl were callin u an Scooby noob, but you are a Z noob as well. But its ok ruben, i'll give you a bit of a lecture. Now don't fall asleep!
Although Nissan, the company, was making the Zs from the start, there weren't any "Nissan Zs" per se until prolly the mid-80s. They started to put the Nissan name on cars starting around 1980-81. They put it like for example, "Datsun 810 by Nissan". We had 2 datsuns technically. A POS station wagon and our DATSUN 240z. If you hadn't heard of the DATSUN 510, that was what I think was the original "sport compact" in america. First car prolly in its class to have independent rear suspension. Won numerous SCCA touring car competitions against fiats, bmws, etc.
I did a bit of digging and found this. It had stuff i already knew, then a lot more. The original company was datsun, but they merged with another company forming Nissan Motor. But, they still kept the datsun name on the cars.

If you are wondering about Prince. Prince motor made the skyline and the original GT car, the R380. Since Nissan acquired Prince, the R390 came out under the Nissan name. I saw a great Japanese Documentary on Prince motor once on Jp tv.
Now please don't diss what we've had for over 30 years now..

I haven't given the Suby a name yet (coming up on 2 years so maybe I should now) but my old car, a dark green dodge stealth/mitsu 3000gt was "el machino verde" and my girlfriends stock as a (and slower than a) rock is "el beastio" I believe
