that actually don't work. there is a identification barcode on the back side of the ps2. further more, you can say that i can swap the internals of the ps2. however, sony made different versions of ps2s. I, on one hand, have the early version 1 of ps2. the ones on shelf out there are, i'm guessing, version 10s or even higher.. but the point is that.. the hardware placement of ps2 internally are slightly different with different versions.. a few screws here and there are in different spots. Not to mention, retail stores can figure out in a heartbeat that i exchange some part with the new ps2 when they look at the warranty sticker, which is an *** to rip off.

But I did attempt my part on dissecting the ps2. Its still stuck at the loading screen.. its driving me mad with the mad graphics that "poly" team had newly developed.

I do realized that they took out the STi wagon v7. =( so sad. too bad you can't import cars along with the credit you earned from gt3... anyways.. if anyone has a clue on how to fix this ordeal of mine.. i'd greatly appreciate the offer..

Hey Kevin, I have an early ps 2 like yours too. Thoses one have a lot of problems. I think the disk reader on urs is focked. If ur ps2 was dirty, it wouldn't be able to play some games and dvds. Mine can't play some dvds.
