i miss 1st gear

 

yea i dont care about going to classes, it's just GETTING into the classes. anyways. dropped it off this morning...i guess im just waiting for a call then

 

WOOH under warranty! 1st and 4th synchros are bad i guess. i get to pick up the car tonight and bring it back another time once parts arrive

i should find some one with an 05 and put my tranny in thier car get it warrentied hten switch back

i got my tranny in 04 so i should be good to go

 

 

ew guys bad news. i took my car in today to get the new synchro's and they called me and said that when they were draining my that looked like this...

well i can't link it because that would be cross posting, but do a search for "funny the things found when draining tranny fluid" in the bay area forum...

basically they called me up and said they found lots of metal in there...I told them the car drives fine still except for the occaisional grind. the mechanic had to get the ok from me to even open it up because in case he can't get it covered under warranty, it will be like 1000 bucks or so....

eww bad day...mondays suck.

 

whew! under warranty, nothing was wrong with the tranny

 

700 was what i was told to pull the tranny and open it.

mine wasnt underwarrenty, but just a bolt came loose so it was ok only 150$

 

so what about the 1st gear.. or was it all just an ordeal of a loosen bolt?

for mine, they said all the metal shavings they found were part of a plate assembly they put on or near 3rd gear to prevent misshifting or something. they said newer trannies don't even have it...so i'm glad i odn't have to drop any money down for this.
