Pointless, but
I only view my car buying at two levels.
Fast Enough AWD and Too Fast AWD.
I have achieved Fast Enough for now, I'll wait till I can afford a Porsche (in about 10 yrs) for the Too Fast AWD. I personally would only consider the STi if I actually raced..which I don't.
Performance Oriented Sedans....now thats a joke.
The only performance you get out of an Altima, 6, Camry, Accord or Maxima is what you do yourself. They have bigger and bigger engines, but then why not include some Buick that has a big engine while you are at it.

i went to the peterson unveiling of the sti and talked a little with mark lovell about the new us spec sti. mind you he didn't know too much about it, but when i questioned him about the pricing, he alluded to a price somewhere between $30-32k. subaru has also been pushing the idea of "Redefining the meaning of Bang-for-your-buck" which leads me to believe that it will be under the $35 mark.
this is just my $.02, and i believe that this number makes the most sense.

Bang Redefined
I stand by my earlier prediction:
$29,999
That will be more than an EVO, 350Z, RX8 or G35 and the only one of the bunch that doesn't come with a stereo.
Remember folks, value doesn't just mean better, it means better without charging perportionaly more for the increase. If something is twice as good and costs twice as much, it isn't a better value. Telling me how much cooler the STi is than the EVO and that is why it will cost thousands more doesn't equate to value.
Value and surprise are the only two things to come out of Subaru about the STi. Everything else has come from enthusiasts.
