He came around 11:30 and stayed for about an hour, spectating and taking pics with fans. He drove right in and parked it next to the other 2 or 3 Cosmos and drove it out when he left.

that's great. i can't wait for his A/C to stop working again soon. i suggest him to get it done somewhere whent he car runs again. there must be a way for them to measure the tension and set it up properly.

there is a tool that measure the deflection and that is an idicator of how much tension is on it

at least thats what the pro shops do

or they have done a billion and know the tension

Yours broke cuz my belts had over 30k miles on them.
I"m sure with the new one it'll be ok.

Here's what i found
The belt tension is set by deflection:

Alt/PS belt:
replaced: 7 - 9 mm (0.276 - 0.354 in)
reused: 9.0 - 10.0 mm (0.354 - 0.394 in)

A/C belt:
replaced: 7.5 - 8.5 mm (0.295 - 0.335 in)
reused: 9.0 - 10.0 mm (0.354 - 0.394 in)

Given the circumstances, on that day when Kevin's belts snapped. We had no choice because of what time this happened at. I do remember telling Kevin change the belts ASAP because using used belts is not good.
