so about this ash...

I'm in Riverside right now, and we're gettin all the ash and stuff everywhere. I park my car for an hour on campus, come back and there's a nice layer of ash on it. It's also floatin around EVERYWHERE right now.

Would this do anything to mess up anything under the hood, seeing as how we have a scoop?

I'm sure that driving in the ash is going to cause a dirty air filter. I doubt antything would be effected through the hood scoop though.

clean asap

the ash is horrible for the paint. Clean asap, and as far as the air filter goes, clean it as well.

If ash goes into the hood scoop, it'll like only get on the IC, so it probably won't hurt too much under hood, but cleaning it off asap is proally not a bad idea. Wal-mart car cover, perhaps?

I'm going to wash my car right now. What is it about the ash that messes up the paint?

I was in pomona the first day of the fires. We drove in from vegas only to see the fire when it had burned like 6,000 acres or something like that, by the time we left to go back to vegas it was like 16,000 acres. I did see a couple of STI's on the freeway but none waved as I was not in a suby. I havent been up to date with current events but have the fires been put out completely?

You cant seriously be complaining about the ash on your car can you? Those are peoples houses floating aroudn in the air. THe 2nd night of the fire a big piece of ash fell in my driveaway and when i picked it up I realized that it was a page from a book....it still had all the letters imprinted on it...ash is nothing.
