OK, so it's a hole in the ground, drilled all the way to the core. would it have any effect on the way the earth will rotate? as you get closer to the center wouldn't the hole have a more substantial chance of collapsing?

on average gravitational force is -9.80m/s². Negative being the direction of the force pulling from the center of Earth.

Gravity is a constant, correct, "radiating" from the center of the earth. When you hit the center, it'd be pulling equally in all directions, hence you'd stop. However, I'm not sure if the force is enough to actually stop you, or if momentum would keep you going. If it did, though, you'd just pass the center, then slow down and fall back towards the center again.
