Samsung 2233SW 21.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 15000:1 (DC), 5ms, 1920 x 1080, DVI $169 AR --Starts 3-9 at 2AM PST--

http://www.buy.com/prod/Samsung-2233...210684840.html

The 23-inch Samsung SyncMaster 2333SW, and the 21.5-inch Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW has the 1920×1080 pixel resolution, which is perfect for HD content such as blu-ray, being able to display it, in the native resolution with no bars or rescaling. There is also the Samsung 2033SW, but this has a slightly lower resolution of 1,600 × 900 pixels.

All three monitors have a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 15,000:1 dynamic. The Samsung 2333SW and the Samsung 2233SW both have DVI-D inputs with HDCP, which allows them to playback encoded HD content such as blu-ray. They all feature VGA inputs as well, have a 5-ms response time, and 170 degree viewing angle.

if you use monitor for just pc then hdmi is really not required.
but if you want to hook it up for dvd player or ps3 then it would be nice to have it as a second 1080 display.

lcd monitor should have better display solution than let's say a 40" lcd tv?

can't really say it's better, it's 21" so if you're at your computer watching a movie ok that's fine. but you're not gonna notice all the good stuff unless it's on a 40". even if you hook up your computer to watch movies on a 40" still will be better. don't really get the 1080p feeling unless you're over 32".

correct 1080p vs 1080i or 720p is not noticeable to the human eye on a screen 32 inch or under. and even on a 36 or 40 inch if u are withing like 5 ft of the screen the difference is not noticeable either

however, if we're talking about computer screen, the higher the rez the sharper the screen is and more surface area to work with, with that it depends on what resolution a game support as well.

the difference between hdmi and dvi is that hdmi is able to carry sound so really no point in having hdmi on pc monitor unless it has speakers like the acer one.
