Need some help in S.F. Valley
Hey there.
I just posted in so-cal classified by accident.
I drive an 05 WRX and live in North Hills. Unfortunately, my work schedule has prevented me from going to Renner in Inglewood for the past month, and now that my appointment has come up tomorrow morning, I have another work obligation on Saturday.
I've been looking for a shop to do my brake job (no dealers) to get pads, ss lines, and new fluid installed. I have all the parts.
I called SUBARU INDEPENDENT in North Hollywood. The guy asks what kind of car? I say WRX. He says, "We do not work on WRX" and slammed the phone (WTF?).
Anyone know why they're such prix over there? Anybody know any shops actually local to the S.F. Valley or is anyone willing to help me out with an install?
I am willing to pay $$ (within reason), or willing to host at my home...garage (bbq, beer, whatever else). Willing to do both actually.
Basically, I'm desperate. My job sucks (prevents ANY free time to get anything done), and now my car is sucking needing a brake job.

Ya the person at Subaru Independent is an idiot! I asked if they did tranny fluid changes on my STI and they said they don't work on STIs. They even have a STI on their webpage.
Try Suby Specialties in Monrovia.

Definitely need flare wrenches to remove the stock rubber brake line.

BTW any SFV people who needs ATE Brake Fluid (gold or blue, $15 for 1L can) can get it at Performance in Van Nuys. They are open on Saturdays too.

Thanks for the suggestions...
I've gone to Suby Specialties before. It's a great shop. Just too far, and if you are familiar with them, they're booked into the next millenium for any weekend work.
As far as parts... I already have a set of Hawk HPS f/r pads, ss lines, and the ATE super blue brake fluid. I think I have what I need.
I'm pretty much ready to go except I'm missing a few tools, and all the knowledge.
Once again, I thank everyone for the replies. Don't mean to bother with multiple posts on my
problems.

True, but I guess it's a tribute to the peeps that are out here on I-Club. The community seems so welcoming, I don't want to wear that out.
I don't even bother posting on Nabisco anymore, but nonetheless, I don't want to be a pest on i-club either.
Anybody who's down to help me with my brakes.... let me know. I'm willing to feed ya and pay cash $$.
S.F. Valley shop recommendations would be cool too. I've gone to Renner and Subie Specialties, but just can't make it to them because of my schedule here. It's real hard getting to shops and even harder finding shops open on weekends.
-THANKS

srsly d00d I would love to help you out this weekend but I'm stuck with my racing team at California Speedway for Nationals. If it was next weekend, I think I can help. I don't mind driving out to SFV but we'll need a place to work. All that I ask is buy a case of New Castle, I'll do one side and show you, and you do the other side and I'll help you.
