I REALLY need help installing my shifter!!!

Someone please help me, I just bought a shifter from some guy in texas and it's supposed to be for my car but I really don't see how. I really need some help it's a ROBO shifter or something. Anyone know of anything I can do? This pic is kinda what it looks like but not quite. It appears as if I have to remove the thing that the stock shifter actually seats in. You know the thing with the white plastic in it. But how do you do that?! Any help is greatly appreciated.

your right, that does look crazy. I would look at Scoobymods.com. They'll probably be your best bet for online help. You can search or ask. I searched a bit and from what it looks like you have '00 2.5 rs. I would try this:

I know they show Kartboy but maybe it will be somewhat close. I wish I could be more of help but getting a short throw for myself is at the bottom of my list right now.

yeah, this thing really isn't going to work. The joint at the bottom is welded to the car and you have to use a new one with the shifter I bought so that's not going to work at all. Thanks though.

Is that exactly what your shifter looks like? that looks more for a Mazda than a Subaru.
we got a robo shifter trade in a long time ago and i was amazed at that thing.

sorry about your misfortune.
see if you can get your $$ back and get a Kartboy or a Used Kartboy off ebay.

take a look at our website and the install pages there. that should give you a good idea what things are suppose to look like

Or use it as a Robo-arm and look for a Kartboy shifter.

Well normally you'd just pop out the old shifter and pop in the new one. This one has a new balljoint built onto it. I don't know how that's supposed to go in the old one's welded.

Help withshifter

Hi, the shifter (robo) is not for the Suby, the subys have either a plastic or machined metal ball that seats into the plastic receiver. Go Cobb double adjustment, best one I've installed.
