Surprised nobody mentioned the 50mm/1.4 - prime lens, but gorgeous bouquet and amazing for portraits. Also really, really well priced.

10-22 is really a must have for a lot of landscapes/outdoors or any cramped space. Great for car interior shots. I think that's as wide as you can go without getting barrel distortion.

Congrats Mike We need to hang soon! Where's your woman? .. Beh, she's probably at an all-you-can-eat buffet right now.

good idea get teh insurance then buy a broken lens and send that back haha

since you have a FF (full frame) camera you need to buy lenses that are compatible with it. i would recommend getting
16-35L or 17-40L - good wide angle lens
24-70L - 24-105L - good all around lens

thanks! i have a 35-200 right now

going to get a wide angle next after a neck strap then a tripod

L glasses are super nice too bad it cost at least a grand. mike doesn't have that kinda money, i have a xsi and i bought a 17-85mm
