Also look into the sigma 30mm You could get some nice dark shots with no flash. Since you have a cropped frame sensor that would be the equivalent to a 50mm.

i was having problems with my point and shoot in low light i had to fiddle with the ISO to pull it off
but yeah another reason why i went to a good camera
