i looked up ways to store your car for long periods of time and all of them say to fill up the tank with gas. I need to know how long i can keep it in before it gets old enough to mess up my motor.

i dont think its an issue of "old" gasoline, rather moisture accumulating in the gasoline. Fill up your tank, as a low tank left for a week or two might accumulate some moisture. As we all know, water does not compress so that would be a bad thing in any car, let alone a turbocharged car. It is called hydrolock. Im not an expert on this so dont flame me. As for additives, I have heard people adding things to their gas or oil for long periods of storage. SoCal forum might not be the best place to ask this question. Also, how long do you plan on storing your car?

above you said to store it with a full tank, now i dont know anything about this, so dont flame me, i am just trying to help! but what if you stored it almost empty, and then right away, you put new gas in it. like maybe drive it for one block, then fill it upat the nearest station, just a thought, like i said, i dont really know

You would want to keep a full tank of gas because an empty tank will allow condensation that leads to water in gas.
